So we are officially one week away from one of the biggest events that involves snacks and food galore. Whether you’re hosting or attending one of these parties, it’s always good to provide at least one dish that will satisfy all guests that attend. I’m talking of course about Super Bowl Sunday. I should also mention that I went a little all out on this one since my team is going to the big game for the first time in 16 years, so I’m officially excited.
Much like my Top Ten Thanksgiving Recipes post in November, I wanted to write a similar post for the Super Bowl so there will be clean food options around rather than caving in and going off the rails with your eating. This way you can enjoy the big game and still feel great. I’ve tried to include all the staples in here from Smoked Chicken Wings with Homemade Ranch Dressing, Spicy Queso Dip, and the ever popular Smoked Paprika Tri Tip. Whatever you need, you’re sure to find it in here.
We’ll, that’s enough of me going on. Check out these awesome recipes below that are sure to put smiles on your friends and family’s faces on the big day. For all recipes, either click on the image or the recipe name.
Smoked Paprika Tri Tip ~ This is by far, the most popular dish that I have. Whenever I make one of these, it disappears in about 15 minutes. I was just in Mammoth Lakes, CA this past weekend for a ski trip with 10 of my friends and I made two of them, and they both were gone almost immediately. Make this for your Super Bowl party and you are sure to be the hero.
Cajun Spiced Smoked Chicken ~ As my friend from Pete’s Paleo put it to me once, “Smoking a chicken is just one of those simple things that takes something boring and elevates it.” And he wasn’t wrong. Once I made this for the first time over the 4th of July weekend last year, I’ve made this consistently every couple of weeks. Smoked chicken is definitely one of my new favorite things to eat these days.
Smoked Chicken Wings with Homemade Ranch ~ Speaking of smoked chicken, I made these smoked chicken wings last week with some homemade ranch dressing and it blew my mind. The beauty of this one is that it’s officially ‘4-year-old approved.’ My friend’s son helped throughout the entire process and once he was allowed to eat them, he excitedly proclaimed, ‘I could eat these all day!’ If you don’t have a smoker, fear not, there are oven directions as well.
BBQ Pulled Pork ~ If you’re looking for a super easy recipe that you don’t really have to think about, this crock pot pulled pork is your answer. Always a crowd pleaser and super simple to do, if you’re not looking to spend a whole lot of effort and still have an amazing dish for the game, this is your go to.
Crock Pot Carne Asada ~ Another super simple variation for Carne Asada. I know that it’s traditionally made with skirt steak, this is a slow cooked variation with the same flavors but a chuck roast instead.
Paleo Crock Pot Chili ~ What’s a Super Bowl party without a really solid chili? Incomplete as far as I’m concerned. Even Robb Wolf hosted a chili cook off on his website for the Super Bowl a couple years ago. I entered this recipe and while it didn’t win, it has since become on of my more popular posts of all time. Definitely worth trying this if you haven’t already.
Duck Fat and Rosemary Roasted Pumpkin Seeds ~ This recipe takes all of 15 minutes to make and has since satisfied my recent desire for popcorn. The ultimate snack for your Super Bowl.
Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates ~ Always a party classic in paleo circles. These are super easy to make and with different ingredients for the stuffing, there are endless variations of this tasty side dish.
Crab Dip with Homemade Cocktail Sauce ~ You really can’t go wrong with a dip that A: Contains crab 2: Takes all of 5 minutes to make from start to finish and D: Contains cocktail sauce with all clean ingredients from Steve’s Paleo Goods. This is one of my favorite party dishes of all time and my family has made a variation of it for years.
Spicy Queso with Homemade Chorizo ~ This is another one of my family’s traditional party dishes, but this one is made with all clean ingredients rather than over processed fake cheese brick and soy and wheat filled chorizo from the store shelves. I always make this for Super Bowl parties and it never let’s me down.
That’s it for my Top Ten Super Bowl Recipes. I really hope these helped get you in the mood for the big day. If you’re not hosting, hopefully you can make one of these other dishes and really blow people away. I hope you all enjoy the Super Bowl and of course: GO BRONCOS! 🙂
PS ~ Here are a few other recipes that will also work out great for your Super Bowl.
