Now that the weather is starting to get warmer (well, in most places), that means BBQ season and the margaritas are starting to flow. Typically in the paleo world, most people are familiar with the NorCal Margarita that Robb Wolf is known for bestowing upon us. This is based off of that concept but adds a little seasonal fruit in the mix as well. Since mangoes and blood oranges are all over the place at my local farmers market, I figured I’d see if they worked together in a margarita. They didn’t disappoint.
Even if you’re not a big tequila fan or even a drinker in general, this drink is just as tasty if you omit the tequila altogether. I drink it this way since alcohol consumption for epilepsy isn’t the best of ideas.
- 1 large mango, peeled and chopped
- 1 blood orange, peeled
- 1½ cups soda water
- ½ cup ice
- 4 oz 100% agave tequila silver (optional)
- splash grand marnier (optional)
